Twitter is one of the world’s most popular social media networks that is in a category all its own.
I love Twitter for Businesses because major companies, small businesses, celebrities, and everyone else is on Twitter, and they are all “talking” to each other. We are no longer limited by the barriers of distance or time when it comes to communication, thanks to tools like the Internet and social platforms like Twitter.
Users are able to connect with each other 24 hours a day via real-time comments called “Tweets.” Tweets are limited to 140 characters at a time which causes the user to really get down to the business of getting their point across…140 characters, or less.
While it’s not an easy task, communicating in this way causes users to really “think” about what they say before they tweet it out to the world. This is especially true as there is no edit button. (Fellow Twitter users you know exactly what I’m talking about.)
In other words, Tweets are sent with care which translates into not only having conversations, but having “meaningful” conversations with your audience and customers.
If you’re a business looking to reach millions of potential customers at a time, then Twitter is the place for you.
Twitter boasts a user base of over 67 million. That is a staggering number. You’re bound to run into a least a few people that want to hear what your brand has to say.
The “Twitterverse” includes all walks of virtual life: young budding professionals, seasoned entrepreneurs, Millennials, CEO’s, moms, dads, you get the picture.
If it’s being talked about Twitter.
According to a recent research study done by Forrester, more than 78 percent of executives use Twitter daily and feel that Twitter has been influential in their business.
Considering the sheer number of users that Twitter boasts these statistics definitely make sense. The beauty of Twitter is that at some point you are going to run into your audience, you’re going to make the right connections, and you are going to get your message across as long as you are actively engaged with your audience.
Let’s take a look at some important Twitter stats provided by the Forrester Consulting Study on the Infographic below:
Corporations and businesses are definitely starting to learn the value of using Twitter for Business.
Brands are able to use Twitter to build genuine connections which lead to lasting relationships with their audiences through meaningful conversations.
Businesses are able to gain valuable insights on what their customers have to say about them, resolve customer service issues, and to create brand ambassadors through regular interactions with audiences.
Another way that Twitter fans and business have begun to engage with each other is through the use of Twitter chats.
Twitter Chats are becoming all the rage. Twitter chats are real time Q/A sessions between users who share similar interests or follow a particular hashtag.
Some of my favorite Twitter chats are #WinnieSun #OrcaChat #BizHeroes and #TwitterSmarter. I attend these chats at least once weekly as my schedule permits.
I highly recommend attending one or more of these!
I’ve made quite a few unexpected connections that have turned into friends and colleagues that I look forward to tweeting with whenever I log onto the platform.
If you’re interested in participating in one of my favorite Twitter chats, here are the dates and times (as of the date of this post.
#OrcaChat: Orcachat is hosted by one of my favorite tweeters Kristin, who is the voice behind the @HeyOrca brand Twitter handle. Chat topics include Social Media, Business, and Marketing, and Tacos? Tuesdays from 1 pm to 2 pm Eastern Standard Time
#BizHeroes: BizHeroes is hosted by another one of my favorite Tweeters the amazing @ZalaB via @paper.li. Zala Bricelj a digital storyteller and friendly Twitter influencer. Chat topics: Business, Marketing, and Social Media Marketing. Tuesdays from 2 pm to 3 pm EST.
#WinnieSun: This chat is named after it’s amazing and accomplished host Winnie Sun who represents Sun Group Wealth Partners. Chat topics include Personal Finance, Business Finance, Social Media Marketing, and Business. Wednesdays from 2 pm to 3 pm EST.
To join the chat just follow the hashtag at the relevant date and time.
Each Twitter chat provides a wealth of knowledge and insights from real-life participants who practice in the relevant industry that the chat covers. I’ve never walked away from a Twitter chat empty handed.
Whether it’s gaining information regarding the latest industry trends and happenings, connecting with Twitter influencers, or making lasting business networking connections, Twitter chats offer users the ability to connect with each other in an incredible way.
If you’re looking for an “always on” connection where you can gather real-time data and information about your industry, customers, trends, news, and just about any other topic that you can think of, then think of a catchy handle or username and login to Twitter, it’s all there.
Both customers and brands are using Twitter to gain industry insights and to assist with making purchase decisions.
Platforms like Twitter have completely changed the customer buying cycle where customers are now able to stay connected with brands from the pre-purchase phase to the support phase of the buying cycle.
Twitter is the New Black.
